As cyber threats escalate across the globe, Texas technology firms are rallying together to bolster cybersecurity measures, responding to a significant uptick in attacks targeting businesses and government entities.
According to a recent report from the Texas Cybersecurity Council, the state has seen a 30% increase in cyber incidents in the past year alone, prompting companies such as Austin-based SecureAI and Dallas-based NetGuard Technologies to collaborate on developing more robust digital defenses.
“The threat landscape is evolving rapidly, and we must evolve faster,” said James Lee, CEO of SecureAI. “By pooling our resources and expertise, we can create solutions that not only protect our clients but also set a benchmark for the industry.”
In this collaborative effort, the companies plan to share intelligence on emerging threats, develop innovative security solutions, and host joint training sessions for technical staff. They aim to launch their initiative, dubbed “Secure Texas,” by the end of this quarter.
The initiative comes on the heels of high-profile cyberattacks that have plagued several major corporations in Texas, including the recent breach at Texas Instruments which affected over 100,000 customer accounts. As cybercriminals become more sophisticated, businesses are increasingly recognizing the importance of investing in cybersecurity.
The Texas Cybersecurity Council has advocated for increased funding to support state-wide cybersecurity initiatives, urging legislators to allocate more resources in the upcoming 2027 budget. “We need to ensure that every Texan company, regardless of size, has access to these essential tools,” said Rachel Adams, a council member.
As part of their efforts, SecureAI and NetGuard Technologies are also exploring partnerships with local educational institutions to enhance the cybersecurity workforce pipeline. They plan to offer internships and co-op programs aimed at attracting the next generation of cyber professionals in Texas.
With the stakes higher than ever, the collaboration between these Texas firms represents a proactive approach to safeguarding the state’s economic future and ensuring its technology sector remains resilient.
