As Texas faces one of the hottest summers on record, the state's energy grid is experiencing unprecedented demand, raising concerns over its resilience. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) reported that energy consumption peaked at 80,000 megawatts over the July 4th weekend, marking a new high for the grid.

Demand for electricity surged as temperatures soared above 110 degrees Fahrenheit in many cities, particularly in Houston and Dallas. ERCOT officials issued multiple conservation alerts, urging residents to limit their energy usage during peak hours to avoid potential rolling blackouts.
