The Fort Worth Cybersecurity Hub will focus on attracting startups and established firms specializing in cybersecurity solutions. The initiative is backed by a $15 million investment from the city and local businesses, including major funding from Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics.
“In today’s digital age, safeguarding information is paramount,” said Heather Cummings, Director of Cybersecurity at Lockheed Martin. “Our partnership with Fort Worth marks a pivotal step in enhancing not just our operations but the security of the entire tech ecosystem.”
As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated, the demand for robust cybersecurity measures is paramount. The new hub is expected to include a state-of-the-art training center where professionals can receive cutting-edge training in cybersecurity practices, thus creating a skilled workforce ready to tackle modern challenges.
According to a report by Cybersecurity Ventures, the global cybersecurity market is projected to reach $345 billion by 2026. Fort Worth aims to capture a significant share of this market, capitalizing on its existing infrastructure and educational institutions.
The hub will also foster collaboration among tech companies, educational institutions, and government agencies, creating a synergistic environment that encourages innovation and growth. “We envision a thriving community of cybersecurity experts right here in Fort Worth,” added Cummings.
