In an era where remote work has become commonplace, a Dallas-based startup, Virtually Together, is pioneering innovative virtual reality (VR) solutions aimed at enhancing collaboration among remote teams.

Launched in early 2025, Virtually Together offers an immersive platform that allows employees to interact in a simulated office environment, regardless of their physical locations. The startup recently closed a $40 million funding round led by Accel Partners, reflecting growing investor interest in VR applications for workplace productivity.

“Our platform is designed to replicate the spontaneity of in-person interactions,” said Rachel Kim, co-founder and CTO of Virtually Together. “It’s about breaking the barriers of distance and fostering creativity.”

The application includes features such as virtual meeting rooms, collaborative whiteboards, and even VR coffee breaks to encourage social interaction among team members. The company’s beta version is already being piloted by several large corporations, including Deloitte Texas and AT&T.

“We've seen a noticeable uptick in team engagement and productivity,” noted Mark Wells, a project manager at Deloitte Texas. “The ability to connect in a virtual space has made remote work feel much more cohesive.”

The rise of platforms like Virtually Together comes amidst a growing demand for versatile remote work solutions, particularly as many organizations opt for hybrid working models. According to recent studies, 70% of employees express a preference for a flexible working environment.

Experts predict that the VR collaboration market will reach $10 billion by 2030, with Texas positioned to be a leading player in this emerging segment. “If we can harness the creative potential of VR, we could see a seismic shift in how work is done,” added Kim.

As the technology evolves, the implications for workplace dynamics and employee satisfaction are substantial. With continued investment and development, Virtually Together could redefine the remote work experience for millions.
