Local universities are also playing a vital role. The University of Texas at Dallas has ramped up its cybersecurity program, collaborating with industry leaders to ensure that graduates possess the skills necessary to meet evolving challenges. This year, enrollment in the program has surged by 40%, reflecting the rising demand for cybersecurity expertise.
Additionally, major corporations in the DFW area are investing heavily in cybersecurity solutions. AT&T, headquartered in Dallas, has announced a new cybersecurity division with plans to hire 1,000 professionals over the next two years. The company aims to bolster its offerings in the face of growing cyber threats.
Industry experts predict that the cybersecurity market in Texas will exceed $10 billion by 2028 as businesses increasingly recognize the importance of protecting sensitive data. This growth trajectory is expected to bring significant economic opportunities to the DFW region.
