In response to a surge in cyberattacks, a coalition of cybersecurity firms in Dallas has formed to enhance the digital defenses of businesses across Texas.
The initiative, dubbed the Texas Cybersecurity Alliance, consists of over a dozen local companies, including major players like SecureTech and CyberGuard Solutions. The coalition aims to share intelligence, resources, and best practices to better protect against the increasing threat landscape.
“The rise in cyber threats has reached alarming levels, with a 50% increase in reported incidents this year alone,” said Michael Carter, CEO of SecureTech. “By pooling our expertise, we can provide robust solutions tailored to the unique needs of Texas businesses.”
Recent data from the Texas Department of Information Resources indicates that small to mid-sized enterprises are particularly vulnerable, accounting for 70% of the reported breaches. In response, the alliance plans to launch educational programs aimed at raising awareness about cybersecurity best practices, specifically targeting these businesses.
In addition to education, the coalition will offer a suite of cybersecurity services, including threat assessments and incident response plans at discounted rates for members. The goal is to create a safer digital environment in Texas, which is home to numerous industries susceptible to cyber threats, from finance to healthcare.
“Working together, we can make significant strides in securing our digital infrastructure,” commented Sara Kim, COO of CyberGuard Solutions. “It’s about building a culture of cybersecurity, not just a set of tools.”
As the Texas Cybersecurity Alliance launches its initiatives, the coalition believes it can significantly lower the risk of cyber incidents across the state, fostering a more secure environment for all businesses.
