According to a recent report by the Texas A&M University Real Estate Center, approximately 1.5 million households in Texas are classified as cost-burdened, spending more than 30% of their income on housing. The urgency for affordable housing solutions is underscored by the need for sustainable growth and community stability.
As these cities implement various strategies to improve affordability, stakeholders emphasize the importance of collaboration. “It’s crucial for city governments, developers, and community organizations to work together,” stated Jessica Green, a housing advocate with Texas Housers. “Only through collaboration can we create meaningful change.”
